March 15

Good evening!

Where does the time go? I almost forgot to post the blog but luckily I am still at school with access to the camera!

It has been a busy couple of days since our last blog. I hope your son or daughter has been filling you in, and if not, read on!

Gym: Students practiced hockey skills with partners.
Math: 2D shapes and their characteristics, such as does the shape have a curved or straight line, how many sides, how many vertices (corners). Can you name a shape with no sides?
Social Studies: Community. We continue with this topic, interweaving it throughout the subjects, such as Language Arts.
Language Arts: Dr. Seuss, sight words (did you practice at home), Read to Self (10 minutes, yay!), and more.

Here are some photos of some work we did in math with shapes. Students were excited to create new shapes and designs using two or more shapes. Check it out:

And here is a message from Carman talking about playing dogs, books and how she loves life and sleeping! Good job with sight words!

Some more pictures from today of the Leprechaun traps students have made at home:

Yesterday was March 14, or Pi day. Thank you to Matty's mum for baking me a delicious pie with the Pi symbol on it. I gobbled it up without taking a picture, but take my word for it...nom nom!

Alright, have a fabulous evening. I must go home to trap a leprechaun!
