I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. From the stories shared, it seemed pretty eventful!
This morning the students played a game of "Angry Birds". This involved one team of birds trying to get "eggs" out of the nest of the other team without being tagged. Luckily there were three nice birds who could untag birds on their team. Lots of rules, but the students got it!
In math class we continued to explore measurement, as well as a bit of shapes and patterns work to get our minds thinking about our afternoon art project. Tamika wondered if the placement of an object made a difference when determining if a scale would balance. What do you think?
After recess, we did an "eggs"periment! Ask your son or daughter what Room 5 did in the staff room!
In the afternoon, after reading an interesting story about the importance of an eagle feather to First Nations communities, students were fortunate to have Mrs. Stables continue her work with them on creating medicine wheels. The seasons for this afternoon were spring and autumn. I was proud of my students who shared their knowledge of what they have learned about the four seasons.
Please note, should you be interested to volunteer in our class, you must have a volunteer security clearance completed. Please stop by to see Ms. Cumming in the office and she will help guide you to facilitate this process. Unfortunately until you have this clearance we will not be able to welcome you into the classrooms or on field trips. We love volunteers!
