The letters of the alphabet are unique on their own, and usually created with a pencil, crayon or marker. We talked about creating our own classroom alphabet with "stuff". The found stuff will be glued to cardboard and placed around the room. After a few suggestions of using bricks and cars, we figured out the materials should be a bit lighter. Some ideas generated by the students included:
- Lego
- Crumpled paper
- Playdough
- Sand
- Flowers and petals
- Rocks
- Feathers
- Macaroni
- Silk and other cloth
- Broken crayons
- Q-tips
- Tissue paper
- Marshmallows
- Noodles
- Fruit Loops
- Yarn
Here is an example:
Please check your child's backpack for a paper bag and notice about this project, as well as a letter from the school.
Today we went to Music with Mr. Rattan in the morning and got to sit in the new music room on the stage. In class we did a name game and found out Ms. Cokar's first name! We also talked about one Pillar of Care - Care for Self - and the students came up with some great examples, such as using sunscreen if it is sunny outside.
Ms. Cokar
