Happy Monday!

Good afternoon!
Room 5 learned a very big word today: independent. After a few guesses (mostly weather related) the students discovered it means doing things on your own. So we applied this new word when we practiced Read to Self. Do you remember two things to practice when you Read to Self? They are: reading for the whole time and sitting in one spot. Guess what? The students Read to Self for 3 minutes! Twice! Do you think you can Read to Self for 3 minutes? Give it a try.

The class also thought of ways they show Care for Place, another Pillar of Care:

The Terry Fox Run will be this Friday and the school’s goal is to raise $1000. Toonies for Terry donations will be accepted starting tomorrow. Maybe if enough money is raised, Ms. Cokar will dye her hair an interesting colour. The class will learn more about Terry Fox in the next couple of days.

Thank you,

Ms. Cokar
