Good afternoon!
Today was our Volunteer Tea and our class presented to the amazing volunteers who have been helping all grades throughout the year. Room 5 did Brown Bear, Brown Bear with a twist at the end, and then Logan read a short poem about volunteers, with his peers as backup.
After the Volunteer Tea, we worked on finishing up our coffee filter butterflies. I love how creative the students are; some created a "ring" out of the pipe cleaners so the butterflies could "fly".
We ended our day with learning about animal babies. Collective "aww"!
I am requesting for the last two weeks of school, as a family, you have a conversation about toys. Beddington Heights has a policy regarding not bringing toys and technology to school. If there is a request by the teacher for a project, you will be notified.
As mentioned before, I would appreciate support in discussing care for self and others, as there have been too many instances of students in my classroom being hurt physically or by words. Also, a reminder that we cannot share things like food, due to allergies, or hats/headbands due to potential lice activity.
Library books were due this past Wednesday!!!
On Friday, June 23, the three Grade 1 classes will be on a field trip to the Calgary Zoo. If you have your volunteer clearance, please let me know ASAP. We need at least 4 volunteers for our class!
