May 17

Good evening Room 5!

I hope you have had two days of incredible learning with Ms. Zimmerman! Tomorrow, which is Thursday, I will be showing Care for Self and resting up so Ms. Zimmerman will be your teacher again. This means I won't see you until Tuesday. How many days will it be since we saw each other? Start counting. Did you double check? I saw you on Monday and won't see you until Tuesday. I am glad you are confident with your answer, because you are mathematicians!

Grade 1s, Ms. Zimmerman has shared with me so I can post this blog.

Tuesday: Did you find subtracting easier to do with cubes? I know you tried to represent subtracting from 10 by drawing cubes in your math journal, and by writing numbers. I heard you were fearless spellers with a few 'A' words Ms. Zimmerman gave you; this is AWESOME. I read all the fabulous reasons students at Beddington Heights earned Pillars of Care awards. I am positive it was a fabulous assembly.

Wednesday: You played Deep Blue Sea. I am sure it was played quietly since seaweed, sharks, and whales do not make too much noise! In journals you made sentences using the 'A' words from yesterday. I cannot wait to see the art you created! Was it easy or difficult to work with watercolours? Do you think blowing throw straws created unique paintings? I hope you enjoyed Maker Time and building things!

Please remind your parents about your daily homework: 15 minutes of Raz Kids, 15 minutes of Mathletics, and home reading.

P.S. What number did we pull down today, 31?

I miss you all!
