Happy FriYAY!!!
On January 11th all grades
will be starting our gymnastics unit. This will run for 3 weeks with the final
week being Mission Impossible. As there is a higher risk for injury, this is a zero tolerance unit. Any students
performing any activities in an unsafe manner or causing distraction to others
will be removed from the gym and given an assignment to complete at a desk in the gym instead. We do perform some activities that involve heights, and tell the
students to only climb as high as they feel comfortable. There is no penalty
for not making it to the top.
For this unit we ask that students are
wearing appropriate clothing to allow for movement and safety:
o No dangling earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches or rings
o Long hair is tied back
o No loose open clothing such as unbuttoned shirts or open hoodies
o Don't wear pants that are too tight
o Don't wear dresses, or skirts
o No boots, heels, sandals or dress shoes
Any questions or concerns can be directed
to Mr. Sadowsky.
Today the students did a couple of tests!
We discussed that tests are not showing how good we are at something, but what
we know. If we don’t know something, that is okay! The important thing is that
we do not give up and try our best. This way Ms. Cokar knows what to teach. In
case you are curious, the students independently wrote the numbers 1 – 100 in a
hundreds chart, and also the letters of the alphabet (uppercase and lowercase).
I hope you have a fabulous and warm weekend!
Love, Ms. Cokar J
