January 31

Good afternoon,

Today was Tone Up Tuesday. This meant we had to do some fun exercises to keep our hearts healthy. Do you know what a v-sit is? Maybe your son or daughter will demonstrate. It was hard to sit on our bottoms and have our legs and arms up in a V...and stay balanced!

In math we worked on some graphing on the Smartboard. Students could tell by using their eyes what colour most Fuzz Bugs were, and which colour was the least. We were confident adding two colours to get a total number, and need to work on figuring out "how many less/fewer" and "how many more". When we hear the word "more" our brains want to add when we should be subtracting.

Students were able to explore instruments in music today!

Our Pillars of Care assembly was held this afternoon. I forgot to take a picture of our students! Congratulations to the following students:

Care for Self: Nathaniel
Care for Others: Meerab
Care for Learning: Carman
Care for Place: Vincent

I heard some students speaking amongst themselves about what they can do to be recognized for next mont's assembly. We discussed that showing Pillars of Care should not just be a one-time thing!

Unfortunately, we were not able to conduct our experiment today, and I am hoping to do so tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Ms. Cokar
