Good afternoon!
The weather has been cooperative which means outdoor recess! This also means as the snow is melting, a bit of slush. If your son or daughter has snow pants it would be great to place them in their backpack to be worn if necessary. This way, clothes will not get wet. A gentle reminder that snow on the ground, stays on the ground.
In math, students were given a number of cubes and tried to come up with "number sentences" related to adding. For example Ally had two groups, one with 4 cubes and the other with 2 cubes. She was able to share the total was 6. We talked about how this meant 4 + 2 = 6.
We continue to talk about community in Social Studies and are in the process of creating a community flip book. Stay tuned!
Our sight words for this week:
- so
- no
- one
- be
- me
Homework: Try to use each word in sentences when speaking with someone. We did talk about how "no" and "know", "one" and "won", "be" and "bee" sound alike but mean different things (as I type this I realise I forgot to mention "so" and "sew". Students had fun helping their friends with the sight words if they needed help, by whispering the word(s) in their ears.
